When to visit Sweden
The summer months traditionally see the largest number of Sweden tours passing through the country. Days between May and September are reliably warm, with temperatures climbing as high as 30°C during the season’s peak in July. Various regions experience different climates depending on their location related to the Arctic Circle, so wise travellers will pack an extra layer or two even if visiting in summertime.
While the winters of Sweden are as chilly and snowy as you would expect from such a northern country, this shouldn’t deter you from considering a tour during late November through to March. There’s something incomparably magical about touring Sweden around Christmas time; the markets, the festivities, the joyous atmosphere – it all makes braving the colder climate completely worth it. Needless to say, winter sports enthusiasts and Northern Lights seekers should also lean towards visiting around this time.
