Tour Suitability
- In mid-summer, the heat may be energy sapping.
- There are a number of beautiful towns and sites we visit which require exploring on foot.
- On one day, we follow the Saarschleife treetop walk through the forest canopy to the extraordinary, elevated lookout platform. The elevated wooden walkway is broad and flat, and a fine piece of German engineering. It does however stretch 1.25 kms there, and a little less coming back. There are no alternative transport possibilities, so walking is the only way. The actual lookout is a series of 10 easy, low gradient, zig zag ramps climbing to the top at a height of 42 metres. The view from the top is truly magnificent. If you choose not to take this walk you can elect to stay in the Visitor Information centre.
Please refer to our Tour Suitability section for more information.
